KING’S COLLEGE LONDON (KCL)www.kcl.ac.uk
King’s Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine is one of the largest and most successful centres for research and education in the UK.
Researchers at King’s benefit from superb core facilities that underpin a diverse range of laboratory-based and clinical research activities, including the Nikon Imaging Centre, one of the few centres worldwide, the Genomic facility for sequencing, the Stem cell hotel providing expertise in ES cells and iPS cells. King’s Health Partners houses two of the UK’s 11 NIHR Biomedical Research Centres and one of the four national Dementia Biomedical Research Units. Biomedical Research Centres and Units drive progress in translational research in biomedicine into NHS practice.
The university has state-of-the art GMP facilities for gene and cell therapy and is one of the few centres in the UK engaged in cell-based clinical trials. This work is enhanced considerably by the NIHR/Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Facility at King’s College Hospital and by the Clinical Research Facility at Guy’s Hospital. The SPAGNOLI laboratory is located in the Centre for Stem Cells & Regenerative Medicine (CSCRM) at King’s College London, which is located on the Guy’s Hospital Campus in central London and acts as a nucleus for a vibrant research community that encompasses the NHS Foundation Trusts of King’s Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre.
